Urban views

A city offers the beauty of a landscape created by people. I like places that have developed some character and texture from having been worn with use and time. For several years in the 1980s, I had a fine art silkscreen studio on the top floor of an old warehouse in a gritty section of the San Francisco Mission District, surrounded by lots of colorful people and situations. I was born in San Francisco, lived in Paris for nine years and in Washington DC for three. I have had the great luck to have lived and travelled in many cities thick with the layers of history and to have absorbed the richness of urban life.
